これは私が何千回と繰り返してきた、キャンドル作りの基本です。
けれど、少しやってみたいと思ったときに、「火を扱う」ということが不安でためらってしまう方もいるかもしれません。
実はパラフィンには、さらさらとした砂や粉のような状態にできる性質があります。
この加工ができるのはパラフィンならではです。
その特性を活かして、色ごとの砂ロウを作ってみました。
日本には、昔からたくさんの美しい色の名前があります。
自然や季節、人の暮らしの中から生まれ、大切に受け継がれてきたものです。
吉岡幸雄先生の書籍を読んだことをきっかけに、この色をさらさらのロウで表現し、それをかさねていけば、手軽に自分だけのキャンドルが作れるのではないかと考えました。
まずは10色からはじめます。
でも、日本の色はまだまだたくさんあります。
これから少しずつ増やしていきたいと考えています。
自分で色を選び、かさねていく時間。

Paraffin actually has a unique property: it can be processed into a fine, sand- or powder-like form.

Using this characteristic, we created colored wax sand.
In Japan, there are many beautiful traditional color names.
They were born from nature, the seasons, and everyday life, and have been cherished over time.
After reading the writings of Sachio Yoshioka, we began to wonder if layering these delicate colors in granular wax might allow anyone to easily create a candle of their own.
We are starting with ten colors.
But Japan has many more, and we hope to keep expanding the palette little by little.
Choosing colors and layering them yourself becomes a simple, enjoyable, and calming experience.
