1candelaは、《ろうのかさね》の研究と同時に、手でこねることができるロウソク素材の開発もしています。
この素材は、火を使わずに手の温度で適度に柔らかくなり、仕上げで高度を増すことができます。
圧縮して薄くスライスするなど、いわゆる「練り込み」の技法も可能です。
小さなお子様でもこねこねして形作ることができますので、今後ワークショップでお試しいただいたり、製品としてご提供できるようになればいいなと思っています。

We are also developing a candle material at 1candela that can be kneaded by hand, alongside our ongoing research on “KASANE – Wax Layer”.
This material softens appropriately with the warmth of your hands, without the need for heat, and can be finished to achieve increased hardness.
It also supports techniques such as compression and thin slicing—what is commonly referred to as “nerikomi”.
Even small children can enjoy kneading and shaping it, so we hope to offer it in workshops in the future, as well as make it available as a product.
